Occasionally faculty members do not readily receive assignments from students that were emailed from outside the college email system. Sometimes, email correspondence is flagged by various scanning applications as well as junk mail filters used by various entitites to keep email systems free of malicious software.
In instances mass phishing or SPAM attacks, Internet authorities will deny mail traffic from certain domains that appear to be the source of the attacks. While a user may not personally be participating in the attacks, their message traffic and all other message traffic from that domain will be blocked.
For these reasons, every attempt should be made to communicate with faculty and staff using your official student email. Your student email address will have the format of firstname.lastname@example.org
