Unable to map H: drive in classrooms

Frequently, faculty and staff contact the IT Helpdesk because they are unable to map to their home drive or H: drive where they typically store work materials.

Classroom computers will not be able to map home drives or college network H: drives.  The reason for this, the classroom computers are part of the NVSTU or student domain, and there are no network connections between NVSTU computers and the NVCC domain where the H: drives are located.  This is done for security reasons.

It is possible to access files stored on H: drives by creating a VPN connection from the classroom computer to the NVCC domain where the H: drives are located.  Instructions for creating VPN connections are located here.
