Accessing networks at the college

At NOVA two specific college networks or domains are maintained.  These are the NVCC domain and the NVSTU domain.  These two networks do not alloiw access to each other.  For this reason, each faculty member has a different set of credentials for each network.

Faculty and staff access the NVCC domain from office spaces.  The NVSTU domain is accessed from classroom computers, as well as computers in various computer classrooms, libraries and computer labs.  In order for faculty and staff to access the network from these computers they must use their FS user ID.  The FS user ID is different from the user id used to access computers from office spaces.  In order to get your FS user ID and password, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 703-426-4141.

Students are also required to have their specifc NVSTU user ID and password in order to access the computers from classrooms or other spaces at the college.  Students can also get their NVSTU user ID and passwords from the IT Helpdesk at 703-426-4141.
