Do I have to come to the library to do my research?
The libraries offer a great deal of information online, so you can access many resources 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  You can search the library catalog and access content from our databases (including e-books and articles from journals, magazines, and newspapers).  See below for information on accessing the databases from home.

If you need assistance while off-campus, expert help is available by phone, email, and live chat:  Ask a librarian

How do I use the databases from home?
Most of our databases are made available only to students, faculty, and staff of NOVA.  For log in information, click here:
Off-Campus access to library database

How do I print something in the library?
To print, you must have money loaded on a NOVA Card or a Guest card. Guest cards cost 40 cents initially and can be reused. The cost of the guest card will increase in March 2009.

Printing is ten cents per page when a NOVA Card is used, and 20 cents per page when a Guest card is used.

To purchase a guest card, or to add money to a NOVA Card or guest card, use the designated machine on your campus. The machines take cash only and do not give change. You may also visit your campus Business Office during hours of operation to add money to your NOVA Card with a credit or debit card.

Can I use my NOVA Card at George Mason University’s Libraries?
If you have a current, valid NOVACard, you can enjoy limited borrowing privileges at GMU’s libraries.  Be sure to take your NOVACard with you.
